Selred "Sell" SeaburnDied 1904 in Craig, MO
After a long and painful illness extending to some 8 months. Sell Seaborn peacefully passed away at his home south of Craig, November 17, 1904, surrounded by his family. He had suffered much from that dread disease consumption, yet he murmured not. His death was not unexpected but the severing of earthly ties was a sad experience to the bereaved family, yet a relief to the brother. He struggled heroically but of no avail.
A few weeks prior to death he became aware of his approaching death and became reconciled to his lot, and made peace with his God. Many times he expressed a regret the way he had lived and said in language not to be mistakenthat in his last days he enjoyed more real happiness than ever before in his life and hoped that those he left would live Christian lines and attend Sunday school and church. He was found in prayer often asking for forgiveness and expressed his hope in eternal life.
A sketch of the deceased was given in this paper at the time of his death. He was 44 years old and was married to Miss Addie M. Yandall in 1991 and four boys and four girls were born to this union."
The Craig Leader, December 9, 1904.
