Lizzie M. Brooks was born December 23, 1898, north of Falls City, Neb., daughter of David J. and Adelia (McCready) Brooks. She was the youngest of ten children.
She came with her family to Missouri when she was five years old. Before that time she lived in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma. She had made her home in Craig until failing health caused her to move to the Bethesda Care Center in Tarkio last January. She died at the Care Center, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the age of 85.
She was a charter member of the First hurch of God in Craig, having helped to establish the church in 1932. She had served on the Board of Trustees for 28 years, secretary-treasurer of the Sunday School over 25 years and member of the Women\\\'s Missionary Society. She had worked as a clerk in various stores in Craig for over 28 years. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor, always willing to help anyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include five nieces and two nephews.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 21, at the First Church of God in Craig at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Forrest e. Witt officiating, assisted by the Rev. Terry Blake.
Music was provided by Betty Wennihan, accompanied by Mabel Bailey. Songs were "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "It Will Be Worth It All."
Pallbearers were Gary Wennihan, Ray Wennihan, Ralph Kemerling, John Dougherty, Don Whetsel and Floyd Trail.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
Services were under the direction of Schooler\\\'s Funeral Home in Craig.
