Rites in Craig for Omer Yandell
Omer Lee Yandell, 83, died Saturday, September 13, at Tiffany Heights Nursing Home, Mound City, where he had been a patient the past eight months. He was a retired farmer.
Born November 1, 1896, near Craig, he was the son of Charles W. and Ida Lee O\\'Dell Yandell.
On January 2, 1918, he was married to Bernice J. Browning. They moved to a farm northwest of Craig, where they resided 26 years, after which they lived in various towns before they moved to Mound City in 1971.
Mr. Yandell was a member of the Mound City United Methodist Church, and Maryville Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice J. Yandell of the home; a nephew, Darrell Yandell, Snyder, Texas; nieces, Lucille Hewhall, Long Beach, Calif., and Ailene Fitzgerald, Craig, and several other nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, at the Schooler Funeral Home in Craig, with the Rev. William Hammond officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig.
Pallbearers were Ralph and Harold Gray, Tracy Burge, Harold Eller, Carson McCormack and Frank Miller.
