World War IIHerman "Junior" Wright, 84, Blue Springs, Mo., formerly of Craig, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at a care center in Blue Springs.
He was born north of Craig June 19, 1919, the son of Herman and Mae Showalter Wright.
He married Betty Michaelis in 1946. They later divorced. he married Una Ferguson in 1980. She died in 1996.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had various jobs including working on a mule train and employment at the Lake City and Fort Osage school districts.
He was a member of Sharp\\'s Grove United Methodist Church.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lorene Fisher, Wilma Potts and Pauline Cool; a brother, nelson Wright; and a stepdaughter, Refa Ferguson.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Oligmueller and Debbie Crandall, both of Buckner; two sons, Douglas of Oak Grove and Kelly of Buckner; two stepsons, Joe Ferguson of Lee\\'s Summit and Lacy Ferguson of Buckner; a stepdaughter, Rowena Ferguson of Independence; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial with the Rev. David Seward officiating were Wednesday, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, with military rites by the Story-Hardin American Legion Post, Craig, Mo.
Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, was in charge of arrangements.
