James R. McDowell was born on June 24, 1952 in Long Beach, California, one of six children of James H. and Marjorie P. (Heine) McDowell.
The family moved from California to Craig, Missouri in 1980. After his parents passed away, he became a resident of Tiffany Heights in Mound City.
James passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Tiffany Heights at the age of 68.
Preceding James in death were his parents.
He is survived by his brothers, Donal McDowell and Walter McDowell of Texas; sisters Janice Rehm of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sandra Freeman and Betty Bomar, both of Mound City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Jame enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos to play slots, and watching game shows.
