Services Tuesday for Earle Walker-
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Fairfax Baptist Church for Earle J. Walker of Fairfax, conducted by Rev. Donald Mombert. Interment was in IOOF Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
Pallbearers were Gordon Robbins, Melvin Miles, Everett Wake, Galen Robbins, Richard Thiesfeld, and Richard L. Pearce.
Mrs. Dale Grubb was in charge of the music and she accompanied Mrs. Betty Wennihan, soloist.
Earle Jay was born Jan. 31, 1900 to Elbert and Louise Morse Walker in Atchison county, one of a family of four children, and died at the Fairfax hospital, Oct. 20, 1985 at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 19 days after several years of failing health.
Earle was raised on a farm in the Elkdale Community. He attended schools at Elkdale and Fairfax, and Tarkio College on year.
When Earle was a young man he went to Texas to work in the oil fields around Wink, Texas. He also lived and worked in California for a short time before moving back to the Fairfax area.
On Oct. 3, 1934, he was united in marriage to Maude E. Robbins and they became parents of one daughter, Marcia Sue.
Earle worked for Schooler funeral Home and Schooler furniture Co. for 10 years, and farmed. He was also employed at the Fairfax hospital before he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Maude, of the home in Fairfax; his daughter, Marcia (Mrs. Danny) Alsup, Maryville; three granddaughters, Deanne, Danielle, and Marla Alsup, all of Maryville; one brother, and one sister, Frank H. Walker, Craig; and Mrs. Faye Goddard, Grand Junction, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alfred Walker.
