Wanda loved being outdoors. Born and raised on a farm, she started her farming career with horse drawn implements on her parents farm.
During and after her marriage, she raised cattle, pigs, chickens, crops, and 3 daughters.
Wanda did not have too many fears to which she would admit. When she was about 10 years old, she received a special permit from the highway patrol that allowed her to drive to town for groceries, medicines, or farm needs.(This was due to her dad (George) being almost bedridden for the summer and her mom (Ida) refusing to learn to drive.)
At the legal age to obtain a license, she simply took in the permit; after all, she had been driving for a good 6 years! She NEVER took the actual test and her fear was that she would fail the required test. As soon as possible after the receipt of her license renewal, she would head for the license office!
