Sylvester Clavel Howard, 75, Craig, MO., died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital.

Mr. Howard was born in Preston Aug. 28, 1924, to Ves and Beva Howard. He grew up in South Missouri, then moved with his family to Peoria, Ariz. He moved to Craig in 1943 and graduated from Craig High School in 1944.

On May 29, 1945, he married Delores Randall of Craig. She survives of the home.

He was a farmer and also had sold insurance and worked as a sales clerk for the Showalter Auction Co.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Craig.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Lois Howard; a half sister, Monnie Carmichael; two half brothers, Lendon Howard and Kenneth Howard.

Other survivors include five sons, Stephen of Summerland Key, Fla., Tom of Las Vegas, Nev., Chris of Kersey, Colo., Jayson of Craig, and Jim of West Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Angela Binder of Rulo and Gina Smith of Bigelow; three brothesr, George of Elizabethtown, Ky., Charles of St. Joseph and Curtis of Bolivar; a sister, Wilma Thomas of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, May 17, at the Christian Fellowship Church, Mound City.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig.

The Schooler funeral Home, Craig, was in charge of arrangements.
