Charles married Louise "Dollie" Kent, and they had three children; Ruby, Earl, and Creda. Charles and Dollie separated and she moved to San Francisco, followed by her daughter Ruby who moved to San Luis Obispo, California. Earl grew up in Kansas, and joined the Army soon after high school. Earl moved around throughout his military career, and settled in San Antonio, Texas. Creda followed her mother to San Francisco, California.
Charles joined the Army and after his military tour, he settled in San Francisco, where he married Minnie Griffith, and he worked as a longshoreman.
A few years after his wife died, Charles, decided to return to his "boyhood" home in Craig, Missouri, and this is where "he" chose his final place of rest.
Charles had a step-sister, Mary Ethel Johnson, memorial number 157472147, in Texas.
