Vera Marie Thurnau, 90, Mound City, Mo., died peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Maryville, MO.

Vera was born near White Cloud, Kansas on Nov. 11, 1920. She was united in marriage to Irvin Thurnau in 1942. Vera is survived by her children, Gary (Wanda) Thurnau, Lees\\\'s Summit, Mo., and Linda (Mike) Burnsides, Mound City; four grandchildren, Susan, Jenny, Paula, and Anthony; and eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jaden, Masyn, Maya, Cooper, Noah, Adam and Tyler. Vera is also survived by sisters-in-laws, Erma Heits and Dorothy Lovelady.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Vera served nearly 40 years as the "Avon" lady in Craig and the surrounding area.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; her father and mother, Thurlow and Axie Lovelady; and three brothers, Harry, Marion and Harold Lovelady.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 31, at the St. John\\\'s Lutheran Church in Corning, Mo. Services were conducted by Pastor Brian Lemeke.
Burial: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
