Many people were deeply moved by the spirit of sorrow to learn of the death of Hattie, wife of C.W. David, who passed away tuesday morning, June 11, 1912. True, most people know of her critical and incurable illness, but even then the realization of her death was felt fully as much as though she had been taken away suddenly and without warning.
Mrs. David\\\'s maiden name was Pearce, and she was born in Shabonna, Ill., died June 11, 1912, aged 50 years, 8 months, and 8 days. She was married here in Craig, January 23, 1884, to Coleman W. David, and they have lived in this locality continuously since. There were no children, but during their married life, Mr. and Mrs. David have given a home to several boys and girls until they reached their maturity; and all attest in highest measure of praise to the kind, motherly interest she always held for them.
Aside from her husband, Mrs. David is survived by three sisters and one brother; Mrs. C.B. Holdridge, Mrs. T.A. Sawanson and Elry Pearce, of Whittemore, Iowa; Mrs. Allie Wildfang, of Neenah, Wis. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for the past 17 years.
Funeral services were held at the family home Friday, June 14, at 2 o\\\'clock p.m. Here a brief but impressive service was conducted by Rev. G.A. Puckett, after which the body was escorted by a large number of sorrowing friends to New Liberty cemetery for interment.
