101- Year-Old Mother of Local Residents Dies in Phoenix-

Services were held Monday at the Mound City Christian Church for Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Field, 101, who died last Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Atkison of Phoenix, Arizona. The Rev. Charles Hagee officiated. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Craig, Mo.

Mrs. Field was the mother of Mrs. John Ferguson of Oregon, and George N. Field of Forest City. Survivors also include four other daughters, Mrs. Atkison; Mrs. Clara Greenhalgh of Lynchburg, Va.; Mrs. Ethel Girdler of Tempe, Ariz.; and Mrs. Ida McIntyre of Mound City; and one other son, John Field of Mound City; 16 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Field, a native of Kentucky, lived in Holt County most of her life. She had spent the winters in Arizona and her summers in Mound city for the past 26 years, missing the trip to Missouri only once in that time. Last summer, when she was 100 years old, she made the trip again.

At the time of her centennial, Dec. 23, 1961, Mrs. Field received congratulatory messages from President Kennedy, and the Governor of Arizona. Senator Barry Goldwater sent flowers. Six of her seven children were present at the home of Mrs. Girdler at Tempe for the birthday party.
