"For many years a resident of Craig, Mo., and vicinity, died at his home, two miles north of Craig on Tuesday, Jan. 19, Death was due to general debility, brought about by advanced years. Mr. Fisher had not been in good health for a number of years and several years ago retired from active work.
Lewis Fisher was born a short distance northwest of Corning, Mo., on Feb. 1, 1854, and lacked twelve days of being 72 years of age at the time of his death. For many years he clerked in various stores in Craig and was one of the best known men in this community. His last work was for Charles McCandish, now a retired merchant of Craig.
About two years ago he moved to the farm where he died. He was married in Craig on Oct. 1, 1902 to Miss Myrtle VANWORMER of Craig. To this union was born two sons, Charles and Carl, the youngest, Carl, being graduated from the Craig High School last year.
Besides the widow and two sons, he also leaves three brothers, John A. Fisher, of Eureka Springs, AR; Sam and Mose of near Craig. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Mound City, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks of Cedar Rapids, Ne.
Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Church today (Friday) at 2 o\\\'clock p.m. and the sermon will be preached by Rev. E.L. Rutledge."
