Erma Gibbs Wright, 96, died Saturday, April 9, 1988, in the Community Hospital, at Fairfax, Mo.

The daughter of Homer Frankln and Laura Jane (Varvel) Gibbs, she was born August 12, 1891, in Forbes and attended school there.

On April 17, 1915, she was married to Earnest Evert Wright by the Rev. O.A. Lockhart in the Craig Methodist parsonage. They lived near Craig several years before moving to Mound City about 35 years ago. Mrs. Wright had resided the past two years at the Pleasant View Care Center in Rock Port. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mound City.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 18, 1974. She was also preceded by a son, James Franklin, who died at the age of two, and by an infant son, two brothers, a sister, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Wilma K. Davis, Mound City, and Famah Lattimer, Kansas City; four sons, Maurice G. Wright, Beaumont, Texas, Edwin E. Wright, Corning, Robert E. Wright, Rock Port, and Charles R. (Corky) Wright, Fillmore; a sister, Anna Narans, St. Joseph; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the Mound City Methodist Church with the Rev. George Bohn officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Larry Wright, Stephen Wright, Mike Wright, Bill Lattimer, Ken Lattimer, and Jim Davis.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, Mo.
