Esther Marie (Renken) Biermann, 80, of Mound City, Mo., died Dec 31, 1999, at a Fairfax, Mo., hospital.
A homemaker, Mrs. Biermann worked on the family farm.

Born June 23, 1919, in Byron, Neb., she attended the Byron, public school, St. John\\'s Lutheran School, Chester, Neb., and Chester High School.

Mrs. Biermann was a member of St. Peter\\'s Lutheran Church, near Byron; St. John\\'s Lutheran Church, Chester, and served as organist for various churches in Nebraska and Concordia Luthran Church, Mound City.

On April 6, 1947, she married Avin Biermann in Chester. He died in 1993, Mrs. Biermann also was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louis Renken.

Surviving: two sons, Bruce, Mound City, and Greg, Maitland, Mo.; a daughter, Marlou Wegener, Topeka; a sister, Elsie Effenbeck, Chester; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held at St. John\\'s Lutheran Church, Corning, Mo.

Burial: IOOF Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
