Funeral services for Mrs. Edward F. Gerdes were held at St. Peter\\\'s Lutheran church, near Craig, Mo., Monday, Feb. 10, with the Rev. Charles H. Pool conducting the service. Mrs. Earl Voltmer sane "Rock of Ages" and "The Lord\\\'s Prayer" accompanied by Mrs. William Drewes, organist.
Pallbearers were George Viets, Alfred Ideker, Clarence Ideker, Vernon Ohlensehlen, Earl Heits and Earl Voltmer. Interment was in IOOF Cemetery, Craig.
Gertrude Tina Gerdes was born Marvh 3, 1897, at Corning, Mo., the daughter of Heinrich H. Rebel, and his wife, Heitina Rebel (nee Hein), and died Friday, Feb. 7, 1969 at the Fairfax Community Hospital at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 4 days.
She was baptized May 2, 1897, at St. John\\\'s Lutheran Church, Corning, by the Rev. Carl Gaensale; confirmed at St. Peter\\\'s Craig, by the Rev. Paul T. Schmidt on April 25, 1912. She was married by Rev. Schmidt on Feb. 22, 1920, to Edward F. Gerdes. this marriage was blessed with one daughter, Norma Jean, (Mrs. Joseph Knapp), Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Tina Ohlensehlen, Mrs. Thelma Gerdes, both of Craig; and seven grandchildren; Linda, Jimmy, Johnny, Jess, Randy, Cindy and Julie Knapp, all of Omaha, Neb.
