Pastor William J. Lowmaster, Jr., 62, Mound City, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at a Fairfax, Mo., hospital.
Born July 15, 1947, in Grosse Point, Mich., he attended school in Royal Oak, Mich., and graduated from Kimball High School in 1965 and attended college in Tarkio, Mo.
In 1969, he enlisted in the United State Air Force and served as an Arabic linguist. Upon leaving the Air Force in 1973, he attended Wayne State University in Detroit, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Anthropology.

He worked in real estate sales until 1982, when he entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., and graduated in 1986. He was ordained and accepted the Solemn Assignment as an Evangelistic Missionary to Sri Lanka where he served until 1990, when he returned home and accepted the call of Trinity Lutheran Church in Buchanan, Mich., to be their pastor. In 2001, he accepted the call from the mission congregation Living Water Lutheran Church in Mio, Mich., to be their pastor. In 2004, the Michigan District ended the subsidy to Living Water Congregation and after being in inactive status for a short time, he received the call of the Tri-Parish of Holt County, Mo., on May 1, 2005. He would have celebrated 25 years of service in 2011.

On December 27, 1969, he married Sharon Schmidt, his high school sweetheart, in Birmingham, Mich. She survives of the home. They enjoyed fishing and camping, and Pastor also enjoyed golf and photography.

Pastor Lowmaster was preceded in death by his father, William James Lowmaster, Sr.

(Additional Survivors) daughter, Vicki and her husband, Lance Rausch of Stevensille, Mich.; two sons, Robert Lowmaster of Stevensville, Mich.; and Joshua Lowmaster of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Jean Lowmaster of Beverly Hills, Mich.; and four brothers.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 at St. Peter\\\'s Lutheran Church, Craig, Mo. Interment I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo. The family received 9 a.m. To 10:30 a.m. On Monday at St. Peter\\\'s Lutheran Church in Craig.
