Martha (Wyman) Martin, 90, of Mound City, Mo., died Jan 12, 200, at a Mound City health-care center.
Mrs. Martin began teaching in the primary grades at Craig, Mo., and later at Mound City schools. After 44 years in the education field, she retired from the Mound City school.
Born July 17, 1909, near Maitland, she was a resident of a health-care center in Mound City since 1992.
She was a graduate of the Maryville, Mo., high school and received a 60-hour teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville. While teaching, she completed a bachelor of science degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Craig Presbyterian Church, where she taugh Sunday school and was active in the women\\\'s group. She also was a member of the lpha Sigma Alpha social sorority, Retired Teacher\\\'s Association and Community Hospital Auxiliary.
In 1939, she married Rufus A. Martin of Craig. They made their home in Craig. He is deceased.
Mrs. Martin also was preceded in death by an adopted daughter, Beverly Wennihan; and her parents, Lionel and Lillian Wyman.
Surviving: two sisters, Mary L. Sims, Fairfax, Mo., and Elaine Yates, Big Lake, Mo., four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Presbyterian Church, Craig, Mo.
Burial: IOOF Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
Arrangements: Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, Mo.
