Veteran KoreaAlden Lyle (Corky) Massie, 75, Albuquerque, N.M., died Sunday, March 28, 2004.
He was born Jan. 10, 1929, at Craig, the son of John Dee and Esther (Williams) Massie.
A 1947 Craig High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1954, and in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1977. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant, with 28 years active duty and two years in the Reserve.
His parents, and a brother, J.W. Massie, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann (Carlton) Massie; sons, Oran and Dean Massie; stepchildren, Deborah Buell, Mary Yuchas, Cyndi Benoit and John Yuchas; and five grandchildren.
The body has been cremated, and a memorial service is planned for early April in Albuquerque.
Graveside services will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, May 8, with military honors by the Craig American Legion Post.
