News Item from the Holt County Sentinel-July 29, 1878
"Herman Musch, and his daughter, Miss Ella, met with a serious accident, near their home, 3 1/2 miles southwest of Craig last Saturday morning. They had started to town with their team and had only gone some three hundred yards from their home when the young lady raised an umbrella. This so frightened the team that it sprang to one side of the road, running the wagon into a small, though deep ditch. This broke the seat from its fastenings and threw Mr. Musch and his daughter out upon the hard ground with tremendous force. Mr. Musch was badly bruised about the head and face, the wagon passed over one of his legs. Miss Ella received internal injuries which will confine her to her bed for sometime.-The Craig Leader."
