Cemetery Rules

1. No fence or other enclosure of lots will be allowed on any lot, as such enclosure interferes with the cutting of the grass.

2. Vaults, or tombs of durable material, will be permitted, provided they are under ground, and entrance provided wilth metal doors or marble slabs.

3. No monument, or vault, or any structure whatever, shall be placed on any lot which shall be determined by the Directors to be improper.

4. IN the crection of monuments, vaults, tombs, or other structures, a place will be designated by the Superintendent for the deposit of materials, which shall not remain on the ground longer than is actually necessary for construction.

5. All monuments and headstones must have a proper foundation, put in by or under the direction of the Superintendent.

6. All graves shall be made and all interments or disinterments and all other work, such as making up sodding, or otherwise improving lots shall be done by the employees of the Cemetery, for which customary charges will be made and collected by the Superintendent.

 

7. If any tree or shrub on any lot shall by its roots, branches, or otherwise, become detrimental dangerous or inconvenient to any adjacent lot, walk, or avenue, the Superintendent, with the consent of the President of the cemetery, shall have the right to remove the same.

8. No labor will be permitted on Sundays, except the digging of graves and interments, the order for which must be received at the Cemetery before10 o'clock a.m. of such day.

9. All Cemetery charges and contracts must be paid in advance.

10. Parties on horseback, and all vehicles, must keep on the drives or avenues. An infringement of this rule will subject the offender to a fine of $5.

11. Any person who shall hitch an animal to any tree or shrub or to any monument, or shall leave an animal unattended, without being hitched, shall be subject to a fine of $5.

12. Any person who shall pull flowers or in any manner mutilate plants, shrubs or trees, or deface any monument or ornament, will be subject to a fine of $5 and be ejected from the Cemetery by the Superintendent.

  1. Any person found within the enclosure of the Cemetary with fire-arms or between the hours of sunset and sunrise, will be deemed a trespasser and arrested and prosecuted as such.
  2. Dogs will not be permitted to be brought into the Cemetery and if any shall be found within the bounds they are liable to be shot.
  3. No disinterment shall be allowed without permission being obtained at the office of the Association.
  4. Family lots 10 by 30 feet, (300 Square fee,) from $15 to $60 according to location.
  5. Ground vacated reverts to the Cemetery Association
