"Peter Blohm, Craig, died at his home southwest of Craig on Tuesday, June 1, at the age of 86 years and 7 months. Pete was born to John and Margaret Blohm in Horneburg, Germany on October 31, 1895. On May 30, 1911, he left Germany to come to America, arriving in this country June 11, 1911. He then journeyed to Craig where he lived with relatives. He attended school for a time to learn the language. He had been baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith in Germany.
He worked for the Nordloh and Ideker families and at the Farmers\\\' Exchange in Craig. He was united in marriage to Frieda Drewes January 9, 1921. They were the parents of one daughter, Margaret.
Mr. Blohm served his church in various ways. He was chairman of the congregation for 27 years, being elected to this office in 1926. He taught Sunday School, was Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the church choir for many years, and also was choir director several years. He had been affiliated with the Atchison-Holt Electric Co-op of Rock Port since May 11, 1938, and was one of the original incorporates. He was seated on the board of directors September 5, 1952, was elected as treasurer of this organization in 1964, and served in this capacity until he resigned in January of this year.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William, and his wife, Frieda. Survivors include his daughter, Margaret, and her husband, Earl Voltmer; five grandchildren, Wayne and his wife, Beverly Voltmer, Karen and her husband, David Frtiz, Darrel and his wife, Marla Voltmer, Dale and Neal Voltmer; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, and Mindi Voltmer, Angela, Jon, and Clarisa Russell, Tanya and Kristi Fritz, Stacey and Samantha Voltmer.
Services were held Friday afternoon, June 4, at 3 o\\\'clock at St. Peter\\\'s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Donald Jenkins officiating. There was congregational singing. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery near Craig.
Pallbearers were Ernest Nennemann, Charles Martin, Randall Stoner, Richard Burke, Skelley Miles and Lloyd Norman. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Foster, Lee Peters, Frank Foster, Lee Peters, Frank McQueen, Henry Copeland, Harlan Ray and Joe Farquhar.
Services were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, Mo.
