Elisha William Freeman, son of John and Hannah Freeman, was born at Craig, March 17, 1886 and died at the Pleasant Hill Nursing Home at Oregon, Mo on Sept. 23, 1967, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 6 days.

He had been in the Fairfax hospital for a month before going to the nursing home.

Mr. Freeman was married to Ulrica Oglesbee, Sept. 4, 1908, and five children were born to this union. The family lived in and around the Craig community until the war years, and then moved to St. Joseph, where he worked at the airport. He had returned to Craig in July of this year to make his home.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister and one brother.

He is survived by his children: Mrs. Leola Swope, Mrs. Hannah Thomas; Mrs. Verna Jean Garren, St. Joseph; Mrs. Fredonia Denton, San Ysidro, Calif.; Clarence Freeman, Craig; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26, at the Schooler Funeral Home in Craig. Rev. Clarence Smith conducted the services. Pallbearers were the grandson of Mr. Freeman. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, near Craig.
