Services were for Bernice Erma Gray, 92, Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Craig Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Robert Pitts.
The daughter of Alexander Gray and Rose Altha Browning. Erma was born Oct. 25, 1888, on a farm north of Craig. She died Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the Fairfax Community Hospital, where she had been admitted the day before.
In 1912, her parents moved to Craig and she lived there until Feb. 8, 1974, at which time she was admitted to the Northgate Manor in Tarkio, where she lived until her death.
Miss Gray joined the Baptist Church at an early age.
She attended the Craig school, and after graduation went on to college and became a school teacher. She taught at Brush College and North Center Schools.
She was also a substitute mail clerk, a telephone operator in Craig, and did bookkeeping at the Farmer\\'s Exchange.
Erma was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and her parents. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers were Lanny Gray, Barry Gray, Larry Helfers, Rodney Helfers, David Schmidt, and Richard Jackson.
Music was provided by Beth Herndon, who sang, "How Great Thou Art." and "Beyond the Sunset." She was accompanied by Charline Pitts.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig.
