Russell Grundel of Craig, 78, died Friday, June 26, in the Fairfax Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

The son of Frank and Daisy Grundel, he was born Jan. 7, 1903, in Maryville.

He was married to Rebecca Hargus of Seymour, Mo., on his birthday, Jan. 7, 1931. They were the parents of one son, Russell and Rebecca moved to the Craig area in 1934.

Russell was a farmer by trade, active in that business until a tractor accident, Oct. 20, 1980, which permanently disabled him.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include his son, Russell Jr., and daughter-in-law, Judy, Craig; one brother, Frank Grundel, Lee\\\'s Summit; two sisters, Mrs. Ed James of Faucett, and Mrs. Leo Adams, St. Joseph; four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 20, at 2 o\\\'clock at the Craig Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Robert Pitts officiating. The songs were "The Lord\\\'s Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art" by Beth Herndon and Becky Quimby.

Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Craig.
Pallbearers were Larry Andes, Louis Foster, James Snider, Dean Monroe, and Wesley Christian.
