John R. Krusor died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Darrell McCoy at Menlo, Iowa, following an attack of acute diabetes. He was taken ill Saturday, Aug. 20. John Richard Krusor was born in Craig, Mo., Jan. 21, 1860, and died at Menlo, Iowa, Wednesday, Aug. 31. For many years he operated one of the largest mercantile stores in Craig. While he maintained his home in Craig, he ran a hardware store in Bigelow and later at Horton, Kansas. His later business ventures was about ten years ago when he bough walnut logs, which took him into Kansas and Nebraska, besides his home state.

Retiring from business he and Mrs. Kursor went to Tarkio to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Carroll Browing (Browning?) when Mr. Krusor went to Menlo in April this year and lived with another daughter, Mrs. Darrell McCoy at whoe residence he was at the time of his death. Mr. Krusor was married in 1887 to Mrs. Elva Cook, who died in 1893. To this union was born three children, Holton Michael, Vera Mary and John Richard Jr. Holton Michael preceded his father in death. Vera Mary and John Richard survive. In 1894, he was married again to Miss Florence Spink and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive, with the exception of Joubert, who died about 10 years ago. Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Gomez of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Darrel McCoy of Menlo, Iowa, Mrs. Carroll Browning of Tarkio, Mo, and Louis of Kansas City, Mo. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Van Taylor of Craig, Mo. who has been in poor health and was unable to attend the funeral.

Services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Craig on Friday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m.

Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery. Mrs. John Todd of Waterloo, Neb., and Jay Krusor of Guthrie Center, Iowa were also children who survive. Also three grandchildren.

J.R. Kursor rand a general merchandise and hardware and implement house at Bigelow, Mo. Business was established at Bigelow by H.W. Graham on Nov. 1, 1912, and on June 1, 1913, Mr. Kursor bough out the stock and continued under the name of J.R. Kursor and Co.
He began his merchandise business in Craig in 1909 and sold out and moved to Bigelow.
Born four miles northeast of Craig on a farm, a son of Michael and Emerald (Galloway) Krusor, and was one of three children. His father was one of the early settlers of Craig.

Mr. Krusor married Elva Cook, dau. of P.G. Cook first, and had three children, Holton Michael, deceased, J.R. Jr., and Vera, both of whom were born at Craig. His second wife was Florence Spink, dau. of W.G. Spink. They have in their home five children: Gomez, Joercia, (Jourbet?), Matie, Freida, and Louis Spink. Mr. Krusor was a democrat.
