Laura Lucille (Nowling) Mutchler, age 76, of Craig, MO, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO.
Laura was born December 2, 1945, in Craig. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Isaac "Ike" and Mable (Simpson) Nowling.
Laura graduated from Craig High School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd C. Mutchler on August 8, 1946, in Mound City. Lloyd preceded her in death on December 23, 2001.
Laura was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved taking care of all her family.
In addition to her husband, Lloyd, Laura was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Wells and Linda Nowling; and two infant granddaughters, Timisha Mutchler and Jasmine Mutchler. Survivors included children, Pamela (Jim) Briggs of Shenandoah, IA, Beverly (Marvin Cooper) Longcor of Rock Port, MO, and Brian (fiancée Brandy) Mutchler and Todd Panning, both of Craig; two brothers, Jim Nowling of Oregon, MO, and Orville "Buck" (Valerie) Nowling of Battle Creek, MI; special sister, Kathy Farnan of Clearmont, MO; grandchildren, Marc Longcor, Jimmy Briggs, Micthell (Samantha) Longcor, Melanie (Kyle) Greelis, Jennifer Longcor and Chantel, Branden, Ryley and Nova Mutchler; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Mound City. Family members greeted friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the Schooler Funeral Home in Fairfax, MO. Burial took place in the IOOF Cemetery, Craig. Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home of Fairfax/Craig.
