Carolyn Sue "Susie" Nowling was born in Atchison County, Missouri on September 18, 1943. She was the daughter of Albert LeRoy and Alice Nell (Prater) Fries.
Susie married David Dean Nowling in September of 1961 in Oregon, Missouri. They became parents of four children.
Susie passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Tiffany Heights in Mound City at the age of 72.
Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, John, Jackie, James, Emmett, and Albert “Jr;” and three sisters, Joyce Lueck, Ruthie Steeby, and Betty Fries.
Survivors include sons, David, Glen and Kenton “Bub,” all of Craig; daughter, Shannon Hutton of Liberty, Missouri; brother, Ed Fries of Craig; sisters, Beverly Gilland of Craig and Judy Dunn of Maryville, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Chance, Dalton, Jessie, Ashley, Amber, Jed, Jake, Makala and Brodey; six great grandchildren, Kenna, Karlee, Ryan, Jase, Cameran and Kadee; and nieces and nephews.
Susie enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and going to casinos.
Services: Wed., Dec. 9, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Private family inurnment: IOOF Cemetery, Craig.
