Orr, Fannie Adalaide

Fannie Adalaide (Kibby) Orr
Born Mar. 17, 1869 in IL, US
Died Feb. 16, 1937 in Bakersfield, CA
My mother(Louise Idell Gee) went to Craig when she was about 11 yrs old, about 1932 so she knew grandma Fannie Orr about five years. She loved her dearly. She never knew her to get angry with her. She always remembered eating potato soup at her house and swinging on the porch swing with her. She would sing "By O Baby Bunting" to her grandchildren. She died in Bakersfield, California, when she was on her way to Oakland, California to see her brother Hays Kibby who was ill. She was met in Needles, California by some cousins (children of Thomas Black Orr) and was taken off the train there. She died of blood poisoning which started on a finger from a prick by an unsterilized needle or pin. Idell knew Fannie to have had some boils previously. After Fannie died her son(Harold Clifford Orr)took her back to Craig, Missouri for burial.

Fern Orr, (my mother\\\'s stepmother), told Idell, Fannie was a wonderful mother-in-law. I Rae Dell(Gee)Ward, have heard how wonderful she was, by more then one person in the family.
