 Veteran John L. Quimby was born March 19, 1924 in Craig, Missouri, the son of William F. "Frank" Sr. and Lida(Kilgore) Quimby.

John was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and fought during WW II. He was also a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and served for over 20 years.

John was married to Viola Sicurella(deceased) and Virginia Fortuna(deceased). After his retirement from the Navy he lived and worked in Maryland.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus for Mt. Calvary Church and the Father\'s Club at Gonzaga High School.

John passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Punta Gorda, Florida at the age of 91.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wives; and siblings, Benjamin"Benny,"William, Jr. "Bill" DeElden"Dog", Ralph, Willa Mae "Zuba," Irene, Marjorie, Celia Mae and Lida.

John will be greatly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Debbie Quimby, Greg and Dale Quimby and Danny Quimby; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Monica and Phillip McClean; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
