"Van Taylor is building or in fact has about completed a fine large barn and an elegant and roomy house on his place 4 miles north of town. We understand from the carpenters that the barn is about 30 by 40 feet with plenty of hay room while the house consists of 6 large and commodious rooms with usual amount of other conveniences.
Mr. Taylor is one of the most energetic and prosperous farmers in Sharps Grove Neighborhood. He is, by the way, a native of this Grand Old State, born 51 years ago on the farm now owned by C.E. Metz in Sharps Grove Neighborhood. He and his estimable wife are good entertainers, highly respected citizens and among the leaders in any undertaking."
