Chad Thomas, 19, was driving his 1989 Mustang towards Craig in dense fog on 59 Highway when it left the curving approach to the I-29 overpass, plunged down the steep embankment on the south side of the highway and hit a stone culvert, killing Chad and his cousins, Thomas, 18, and Richard Thomas, 29.
Richard Wayne Thomas, 29, of Craig, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 1994, in an automobile accident near Craig.
He was born in Fairfax, Dec. 22, 1964, to Jack and Velma Thomas, who survive, of the home. He was a 1983 graduate of Craig High School.
Richard was a machinery operator at Cargill Fertilizer Co., Forest City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Thomas; and his maternal grandfather, Fred Sloniker.
Other survivors include a daughter, Ellen R., of the home; a son, Adam W., of the home; a stepdaughter, Anna Anderson, of the home; a brother, Michael, Lubbock, Texas; maternal grandmother, Iris Sloniker, Mound City; and paternal grandmother, Hallie Thomas Worl, Tarkio, Mo.
Funeral services were Tuesday, in the Craig High School gymnasium, jointly with those of his brother, Kelly L., and his cousin, Chad E. Thomas. The REv. Jack yates officiated.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo.
The Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Tommy Kerns, Ricky Roup, David Nowling Jr., Glen Nowling, Steve Hutton and Ivan Kent.
Honorary pallbearers were Darren Roseman, Tim Sellmeyer, Jason Howard, Andy Thomas, Michael Carris, Murray Haugen, George Mackey, Gabe Hayes and Randy Fangmeyer.
Memorials can be sent to the Community Hospital, Fairfax, Mo.
