Ralph Waldo Thwing was born Dec 16 1875 in Whitewater, Wisconsin to John Myron and Elizabeth (Gleason) Thwing. In 1883 the family moved to South Dakota. He attended Yankton College, Yankton, South Dakota in 1900. About 1904 he married Alice Mable Burton. She was born Jul 14 1878 in Allegan County Michigan. A daughter, Lucile, was born May 25 1905, and a son, Emerson Monte, was born June 6 1912 while they lived in South Dakota. They moved to Craig, Missouri, between 1920 and 1930. Like his father, Ralph was a farmer. He died Jan 30 1940; Alice died May 19 1968. Both are buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Craig, Missouri.
