Guy L. Wickiser, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1986, in the Community Hospital, Fairfax, Mo.
The son of Olen Wickiser and Delphia O\\'Dell Wickiser, he was born Oct. 30, 1911, and was a lifelong resident of Craig.
Mr. Wickiser was a projectionist at the Craig Theater more than 20 years, had farmed, and worked for the Bank of Craig for several years. In 1946, he was employed by Schooler Brothers as store clerk, ambulance driver and funeral director for almost 35 years before retiring due to illness. He had managed the local baseball team several years and for more than 20 years announced Craig High School football games.
He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Past Worshipful Master of the Craig Masonic Lodge, past President of Craig Kiwanis Club and was city alderman 18 years. He was also a member of the Craig Christian Church and had served as Sunday School superintendent the past 28 years.
On March 24, 1938 he was married to the former Marjory Paul of Mound City.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons, five brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Marjory Wickiser, of the home; a daughter, Carolyn English, Kansas City; one sister, Bessie DeFritas, Benton Harbor, Mich.; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services with Masonic Rites were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Craig Christian Church. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, near Craig.
Pallbearers were Masons: Calvin Rogers, Calvin Rogers Jr., Mike Whetsel, Larry Whetsel, Steve Cunningham, and Tom Kent.
The Schooler Funeral Home, Craig, was in charge of arrangements.
