Lelah E. Yount 1920-2005 MOUND CITY, Mo. -- Lelah E. Yount, 84, of Mound City, passed away Monday, Feb. 14th, 2005, at a Kansas City hospital.
Lelah was a farm wife and lifetime resident of Holt County, Mo.
She married Gerald Close in 1935. They became parents of one son. Gerald passed away in 1937.
In 1939, Lelah married Elliott Woodrow Yount. They became parents of four children. He passed away in 1993. Lelah also was preceded in death by her parents, Hermann and Nellie (Smith) Banning.
Survivors include her sons, Leland Close, Mound City; and Arln Yount, Marceline, Mo.; daughters, Janelle Howe, Dickinson, Texas; Rowena Yount, Shawnee, Kan.; and Jill Rowlett, Maitland, Mo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, Craig, Mo., Presbyterian Church. Interment: at Craig I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Family visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Memorials may be directed to the Craig Presbyterian Church.
